What Is Your Goal For The Next 24 Hours?
My goal is to not eat sweets for the next 24 hours. It's pretty easy for me at home, because I don't have it in the house, but tomorrow it's Monday and I go back to work and there are sweets everywhere, so I'm bringing fruit with me (helps sweet cravings) and some hot tea - and I'm going to pray, because today is my second day without sugar, so I'm new to this.
I do could stop eating junk in general. My goals r not to let all my worries comsume me today! No panic attacks!
Awesome! I met my goal of not eating any sweets for the rest of the day yesterday. My goal for the next 24 hours is to not eat any sweets. I will probably be checking in whenever I get the urge to eat sweets.
That s a great idea maybe I will to.! I eat because I'm bored. My goal is to eat fruit or small yogurt or something healthy. Instead of junk which just makes me feel bad about myself!
My goal is to not binge! And to try not to obsess about food so much. Having people over for dinner tonight, the goal is to not compare eating habits in my head and to enjoy the time as opposed to being stressed over food. Great job meeting your goal yesterday, stay strong and positive for today!! And thanks for your post, it was a good reminder to set daily goals :)
Hopealways & Rvirginia, thanks for posting! I am having a strong urge to eat sweets, but reading your posts helped. Have fun at dinner tonight Rvirginia! What are you making?
I just had a cup of peppermint tea I. Hopes of not eating anything right now. In about an our ill have a apple with a tbs of low fat peanut butter to hold me over!
I'm making pasta w/spicy sausage and feta... not something I want to let myself have! But tonight is not just about me!! Reading all your posts is totally keeping me from binging right now... which I would TOTALLY totally regret because I am going to HAVE to eat dinner tonight, I won't be able to skip. I love cooking and making dinner for people... I want to be able to enjoy it and not let "Mia" dictate how it goes. Thanks guys for the support :)
You can do it! I have faith in you! Let us know how dinner goes
Thanks for asking!! I did well :) I was mindful(er) and didn't overeat (at least I don't think?) and actually didn't have but a taste of the cookies we made for dessert, since I thought if I had a whole one I wouldn't stop!! I didn't reach my goal of completely leaving my eating disorder out of the evening, I still served my portion a little differently and compared what everyone was eating in my head, but I felt like I was wayyyy better than other times. So I'm encouraged :) Hope today goes very well for you!!!!
Hopealways, a few hours ago I put some peppermint oil on my temples because it helps me to keep calm. Does peppermint tea do the same thing?
When I go without sweets I start feeling anxious, and I am looking for things to replace the sweets, rather than just trying to give them up. Today a few times when I was starting to feel anxious/crave sweets I briefly did progressive muscle relaxation and that helped a lot also. I would highly recommend it.
Rvirginia, I wish I was there tonight! I don’t eat sausage but I love feta more than almost anything. My mouth is watering- let me know how it goes. I’m rooting for you!
Yes peppermint. Is relaxing. I think its great that u use the oil! Good thinking. The Tea makes me tel calm. N it takes a bit if time to drink so therefore. I.m not eating during that time lol! Good luck!
Hi my goal for tonight is not to have a bag of crisps when i make a cup of tea later! Idk whats up with me i cant drink tea without having a bag of crisps! Good luck everyone with their goals! Take care!
Its true its hard not to have something with tea! When I have a floored tea though I find it a bit easier. Noit to eat too. . . But it takes a lot of will power! Stay strong! I'm gonna have some decafe coffee now!
Yes hope it is hard to have nothing with tea! I have crisps, cakes, biscuits and sandwiches, i love tea cant drink it on its own strangely! Have a good night! Take care!
Id much rather have a cookie with it. To! :) In fact I d much rather have cookies in general. Lol
Hehe, we actually made chocolate chip cookies for dessert!! I sent them home w/alllll the leftover cookies... good thing too because I think I would have eaten them all after everyone left. It's easier to say no when there isn't any, ha!!
Hi rvirginia, could u send me some cookies in the post plz! Lol, take care!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Rvirginia, I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner! On Tuesday I didn't eat any sweets, but I "fell off the wagon" yesterday and today. I realized I don't have any plan or goals for my eating and exercising. I'm going to work on creating a 30-day plan (along with some rewards) and then start it tomorrow. My friend sent me a motivational You Tube video on how to achieve goals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plhYVd2MgtA
Hi Grace! How did you do with your goal? Today my goal is to have no sweets. I've improved a lot over the past week so I feel encouraged.
I like the idea of a goal, but where to start...??? I think I will start with just having one sweet a day. It is so hard to stay away from sugar. I think I start a new eating program every week. I am a sugar addict and I can empathize with anyone with any type of addiction. You tell yourself you are not going to do it and you start out okay for a while and then boom...there you are once again, enjoying a cinnamon bun. Sometimes I have purchased two pastries at one time and have aten them both before I get home. Sugar just makes me feel good...that is for a while. I tried on about 25 dresses today for a party and of course none fit because I have gotten so fat from from sugar. I know what I need to do, but I can't ever seem to make anything stick. Oh, well, I am trying with this support group.
Thanks for posting Alegna! I totally identify with what you wrote. Tomorrow doesn't count for me because it's New Year's Eve, so I'm going to enjoy myself. My goal for Jan. 1 is only one sweet, and for Jan. 2 it is zero sweets. Let me know how it goes for your goal!
Good luck with Jan.1 & 2! Today I have had no sweets, but was craving so I drank some almond milk. I know that has sugar in it, but I am mainly trying to stay away from blatant sweets like pastries and candy. I'm not quite sure how I plan to approach New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. It is so hard because holidays are associated with sweet treats. I guess the key is to find healthy sweet treats...right? Have a good night. I'll check in tomorrow.

My goal for the next 24 hours is no obvious desserts and a lot of exercise. The holidays were not kind to my eating and exercising habits. Anyways, no cookies or cupcakes or chocolate hopefully.
My goal for today is not to park my butt on the couch in front of the TV after dinner. I will find a project around the house. Or a craft. Or exercise. If it were light out and warm here by the Great Lakes, I'd be in the garden. Maybe I'll order seeds. I feel better already. Thanks.
Hi Sweetdot! Sounds like some good goals. My goal is to not eat any sweets until after April 15.
